I’ve been writing again, mostly about my dog. For the last nine years, I have been unsure about my dogs’ complete breed. She’s a mutt. But she’s my mutt. When we got her they told us she was a German Shepherd, Basset Hound mix. Which could still be true, I guess. She’s brindle. And she’s definitely some sort of shepherd. But today I’m convinced that she is an Anatolian Shepherd. I stumbled across this theory while googling nocturnal dogs. Kenzie likes to sleep during the day. She’s currently sleeping right in front of me as I listen to TSD and write this post. At night, she rolls around on the bed and throws her toys around when I’m sleeping. Which is another reason I don’t need a physical child. She’s got it covered.
Don’t get me wrong, which I know a lot of people will, I love children. Just yesterday while I was downtown a little boy read his Thomas the Train book to me in a waiting room and it completely made my day. But just because I love them, doesn’t mean that I need to reproduce them. I have a lot of children in my life that fill the void. I know that story started off really exciting and then got really boring so in other more exciting news. I’m writing Elizabeth again. I started writing this book last year. It started to get a little tough for me and I wasn’t exactly sure where it was going. So I started to work on some other projects. I wrote a book for publisher Lisa Rusczyk, for her series Most travel books tell you how to sightsee. Although there’s nothing wrong with that, as a part of the Greater than a Tourist series, this book will give you tips from someone who lives at your next travel destination. My book is on traveling to Mackinac Island. And then I published A short story about a girl named Kendra who ventures off to Amsterdam on her 29th birthday.
I have high hopes of finishing Elizabeth before the year comes to an end. I am completely falling in love writing this book. That explains why I have begun writing in the middle of the night when I awake from my sleep to go to the restroom. When I wake up with ideas and I immediately want to write them down. I have the entire story worked out and I am loving every minute of writing it. I’m writing it in the way I am accustomed to writing my stories – getting to know the characters and letting them tell their own stories. And they are telling their own stories. Elizabeth will tell the story of two young women in alternating pitch-perfect tones. ultimately these two women will come together to tell a story of one woman in a way that you have never imagined. Aside from this beautiful story, I am super excited to share the cover with you. This is my favorite cover thus far. I am so in love with it. Because I love my readers and I want you to feel like I truly value your opinion. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.
