I spent four hours longer than I wanted to at Walmart three days prior to Christmas. Mistake number one – going to Walmart. The store was packed per usual three days before Christmas. That’s when everyone does their shopping of course. Silly me. I normally turn to Amazon for my shopping for everything. Not just during the Holidays. I’m not very fond of leaving my house these days unless it’s completely necessary. However, this trip to Walmart was necessary to get a gift that I needed that I couldn’t find elsewhere. Thus, I began my adventure to Walmart.
I decided that since I was going that I would take back the huge number of bottles that were piled up in the recycling bin. That was mistake number two. Upon arriving at Walmart I walk into the recycling center and see one person standing in there just as patient as he could be since all of the machines were down and the bins were full. I waited about five minutes to see if maybe someone would change them. Then another lady walks into the recycling center so I go and tell the greeters at the door that we need someone to come change the bins for us they are all full. She then replies that she already called someone. So I return to the recycling center.
Ten minutes go by and no one comes. There are now four of us with bags upon bags of bottles that need to be recycled. I then go back to the greeter for the second time and tell her to send someone in there. This time I wait while she calls maintenance. When I return, the machines are still down and there is now six of us waiting for all six machines to be emptied. It’s a blizzard outside, the parking lot is full, and the lines are a mile long with only four cashiers. You know the same song and dance they always have going. Ten more minutes go by and still no one. Can you believe it? And everyone one of us is still calm as can be.
Normally I have an ample amount of patience. But after waiting an hour and a half for someone to change the bins in the recycling center and still having to go to the store to finish my shopping, my patience was wearing thin. I then got the general manager and had him change the bins that should have been changed. For someone who makes so much money, you would think would have the business run better than this.
Other that incident, my Christmas went well. How was your Christmas? What’s your favorite Holiday Tradition? Mine is wearing my Christmas Pajamas and snuggling up with a nice hot cup of cocoa to watch A Christmas Story.
