My trip to North Carolina is going pretty well. So well in fact that I’m not ready to leave. And I don’t think Jenna is ready for me to leave either. Which is ok because it’s not like I have a full-time corporate job to commit to. I can stay here as long as I want. I can leave when I want. It’s a beautiful thing to work for yourself I tell you.
Anyways back to my story. We’ve done a few things so far that I’ve got to say made for quite the adventure. Friday we went to downtown Wilmington where we ate at the Copper Penny. If you ever find yourself in Wilmington, this place is a must. Dinner there was fabulous. After dinner, we went to Dead Crow Comedy Club where we saw a few funny local comedians, one not so funny comedian, and Comedy Central’s Sara Schaefer.
I’m not going to lie one of the comedians before here was so bad that I thought he would get booed off the stage. I think people were only laughing at him to be nice. He was that bad. Liquor helps also. Mostly everyone was drinking. So really how can you not laugh when you’re drunk and someone is that bad at stand up. But we were able to get through it. Slowly and painfully. Sara was pretty funny though, at least there’s that.
Saturday we went to Surf City and went to the beach. This is where I attempted to live out my dreams of becoming a surfer. Which pretty much meant that I was choking on salt water the entire time. And this was after I dozed off in the sun and burned my entire back. What an exciting life I lead. But it was a good time, to say the least.
