Today started off pretty well. I got up around my usual time which is 6:30, I jumped in the shower, had my coffee, and meditated before starting my day. Things seemed to be going fine. I felt great this morning. And then I experienced car sickness for the first time.
As someone who drives long distances a lot, I can not for the life of me understand why I felt so nauseous every time I got in the car (a vomit bag would have really suited me well today). It had to be the person that was driving the car. Though I had been in the car with this person several times before today was by far the worst.
People in New Jersey don’t know how to drive. Everyone’s in a hurry all the time and it’s almost like a sick game of Simon says. Abruptly stopping and going every inch of the way. It’s one of the reasons I can’t wait to leave. If I had to pick I’d say horrible drivers and being car sick is on the top of the list.
After three trips in and out of the car and feeling nauseous for most of the day I headed home to take what would soon become a three-hour nap. I loved every minute of it but eventually, I would have to get up and get back to the edits because my next book isn’t going to finish itself.
Anyway, that’s how my day went. I’m done rambling. Onto these edits and a nice hot cup of lemon balm tea. Chapter 6 here I come.
