Hours spent traveling to Mackinac: 11

After an entire day of traveling by bus, I’m happy to say I’ve made it safely to Mackinaw City. It’s been a long few days and the one thing that I’ve been looking forward to was getting into a hot bath and putting on a face mask. Add in a hot cup of tea and a good book and I’m in my happy place.
It’s the perfect way to end my night. By tomorrow I will be on my way to the ferry terminal which I’ll take to the island and then on my way to my new apartment. You see, traveling isn’t so much the hard part. It’s the way in which I’ve been doing it. And that’s ok because the only way you learn is through trial and error.
On my way here, I was fortunate enough to sit next to two men in their early to late ’50s (naturally) and strike quite the conversation. We talked for almost 9 hours. Not about wearing a face mask but about life. It was fantastic. I’m not sure why but older people tend to gravitate toward me. But they do and it brings me joy.
Anyway, now that I’m almost settled in I can wear a face mask whenever I want. And post the dozens of blog posts that have been in the works over the past few weeks. It’s been a wild one and I’m ready to see what this summer has in store. More adventures to come.
What’s your favorite pastime? Is it talking to like-minded people or putting on a nice face mask? Say hello.
