Every day I’m learning more and more things about this wonderful place I get to call home for the summer. Each time I discover something new I find myself basking in the appreciate that is. First, I’m thankful to have found a friend on this island that I can truly relate too and that I can experience it to the fullest with.
Yesterday I went on my greatest adventure yet. Myself along with two friends went on a walk through the woods behind our apartment only to discover the most magical tree to have ever been on Mackinac Island. One part of me thinks the tree was so mystical because before we left set off on this little adventure we smoked a bowl.
But then the other part of me knows that it was such a beautiful place that it really didn’t matter whether or not we were in an alternative state. I’m such a sucker for a tree and a good view. I mean look at this thing, it’s beautiful, isn’t it? It’s so rustic chic.
And the best part about this wonderful tree? There are only three people at my apartment complex who know where it is located. Well, we barely know but nonetheless, we do know. So if we wanted to go on another adventure to find it (which I’m trying to convince Jewel to do) we would have the place to ourselves.
For me, it’s the perfect spot to meditate, find inner peace, or even have a picnic under the stars. For someone like Jewel, it’s a beautiful scene for her to paint for her next art show. So, all in all, I’d say it’s a win-win. Let’s just hope nobody ever follows us back there and we can keep it between us.
And on another nature-related note, my new favorite book is T. You should check it out if you get the chance. It was a wonderful find.
