For the longest time, I was always against listening to audiobooks. I wanted nothing to do with them. It just wasn’t anything like reading to me. Reading is a way for me to submerge myself into a story while blocking everything else out. It’s just like writing.
As the title would suggest, audiobooks aren’t anything like reading. But in my mind, they just didn’t make sense. I didn’t want to listen to my book I wanted to read my book. That’s the whole point of a book is to read it, not to listen to it.
But then one day everything changed. You see, I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to read as much as I would like. And while I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts (Armchair Expert), I thought to myself why not at least try to listen to an audiobook and see how I feel afterward. I listen to podcasts, it shouldn’t be that different.
And so I did. I listened to my first audiobook.
I decided to start off with a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while now called . And let me tell you, this is one of the best ideas I’ve had in a long time. I’m loving this audiobook. So if you’re anything like me and you’re skeptical, don’t be. Audiobooks are great and I think everyone should listen to them.
