Sometimes I go through periods where I’m not really really writing. I’m not really focused because there is often too much going on around me. For example, moving to Key West. Moving by itself is enough to distract one but moving every six months is a lot. It’s hard for me to make myself sit down at the computer and write even when that’s all I want to do.
There’s so much I want to accomplish with my writing I just need to make myself sit down and do it. No excuses. Because not writing doesn’t help me create the stories I want to create. It also doesn’t help me process my emotions the way I’ve learned to process them. So as of today, enough’s enough.
I am making a vow to myself that not really writing isn’t really working for me. No matter how much I move or travel, I still need to sit down at the end of the day and force myself to write. Tired is no longer going to be an option and at the first of the year I will have (hopefully) finished Family Secrets.
So that’s what’s been going on in my life lately. I’m still always tired, it’s hot down here, and I have too many shows to watch as always. Also, season six of Vikings is coming back and I can’t seem to control my happiness about it. What a hard life…
In other good news, if you haven’t heard yet, I’ve partnered with Audible. By clicking on my link and signing up you can get your first audiobook for free! I listen to audiobooks at night while I get ready for bed, in the car on the way to work, and when I enjoy a nice long walk. When do you enjoy a good audiobook? Say Hello.
