Another Christmas party has come and gone. And you know I have to say that out of all of the work gatherings I’ve been to, this was by far one of the better parties. At least when it comes to work Christmas parties. I’d say they did well with their open bar and brill catering. It almost makes up for everything that’s happened since I’ve been here. The keyword there being almost.
I just can’t for the life of me understand why people love this place so much. It’s just not as great as everyone made it seem like it would be. The island itself doesn’t resemble any picture you see of it, there isn’t much to do here, and the cost of living is way too high. I just don’t get it.
Anyway, back to the Christmas party. It was really very nice. And I had a lot of wine to drink. Since there was an open bar it was the least I could do. The food was also very good and they gave away a lot of trips. I wasn’t one of the lucky winners but it was still great to see other people win a vacation.
Once we finished at the party, a few of us headed down Duval street for some more fun. Hitting up the same bars we always do of course. Ricks, Sidebar, and 801. Because God forbid we go explore somewhere new. My friends really are way too comfortable doing the same thing all of the time.
Then it was home before midnight and sleeping by 1 am. What a fun night it was. Now it’s back to reality. Back to my six-day work week and back to plotting my move to Nova Scotia. Until the next Christmas party. If the universe is willing.
